Professor Shaggs And The Quest For The Ultimate Groove is the third EP and fifth overall solo release by Shaggy 2 Dope of Insane Clown Posse. It was created during a time when he was taking a break from ICP due to personal mental health issues.

Before its release, Shaggy allowed fans to submit possible titles for the EP via email, and the final title was voted on by Twitch viewers during a livestream on March 9, 2023. During the stream, Shaggy revealed that his favorite title suggestions were Extended Play and Clown Boi, the latter of which likely inspired the EP’s first track.

Almost all of the EP was recorded at DJ Clay’s recording studio, The Vault Studios.

The EP’s first single, “Illuminati Don’t Want Me,” was released on May 5, and the second single, “Done Giving a Fuck,” was released on May 12.

The EP will be followed by “‘The Quest For The Ultimate Groove’ Tour,” which will take place from July to August 2023.
