- Anybody Killa performed his first solo Gathering show
- Bubba Sparxx was booed off stage after 2 songs and never heard from again.
- On the first night of the Gathering, during the Dark Lotus set, Violent J fell offstage and injured his wrist and back. He was a trooper though, and held strong for the next 2 days.
- Esham signed in with Psychopathic
- ICP had gone into hiding for 8 months and this gathering was the first appearance they had made since 2001.Shaggy was sporting long ass red dreadlocks, J had lost a mad amount of weight and gotten tattoos around his neck, and they both had all new designs of colorful ass face paint.
- In 2 seperate seminars, Violent J gave long speeches detailing what the 6th Joker's Card was and what it was called.
- The second seminar, detailing ICP's entire rise to "fame" was captured on video and released with "The Wraith: Shangri-La" in DVD format.
- ICP's performance on the last day also kicked off with the first ever performance of a song from the 6th Joker's Card entitled "Murder Rap". At the end their was the unveiling of the Wraith silhouette.
- A Juggalette was caught exposing her breasts in the hallways and an officer attempted to detain her. This caused a little riot and the cops shoot some tear gas and a section of the gathering was closed a couple of hours
- Due to scheduling conflicts, Kittie was not at the Gathering 2002
