House Of Horrors Tour (Featuring I.C.P., Myzery, & Twiztid) At The Royal Grove In Lincoln, NE 4/18/1998

By Palladium

First off, this was unexpected. I wasn't going to go, until the last minute when I found out that just about everyone I knew was going to be there. We loaded up our cars and started the caravan down to Lincoln. I had to lead the way, because I was the only one who knew what exit to get off at. We lost Colin's car when we left from the house we were all at. Then we lost Joe's car leaving the neighborhood.

We got on the Interstate and got going. About three minutes into the drive, I looked back and much to my surprise, there was Joe. He passed Bucky's truck just in time to avoid being stuck waiting to get over due to road construction. We passed the construction, and were on our way. On our way there, Joe and Bucky decided to keep passing each other. Then, out of nowhere, there was a black car next to me. They pulled up enough so I could look over and see what they wanted. All of the sudden, one of the passengers holds up some tickets and asked if that's where we were going. I nodded and gave them a Rock-On. We figured they knew because of the Great Milenko decal I have on my rear window.

After about 30-40 minutes, we were at the exit we needed. I turned onto Cornhusker and drove right past the Royal Grove. I turned at the first place I could and we proceeded to the Grove. We pulled up and found parking spots.

There, we sat and bullshitted until Colin finally showed up. We sat for awhile until we noticed that one of our friends was near the door and he let us cut in with him. Nobody gave us any problem. They doors opened and we slowly moved forward. When we got to the door, there was a flier for Slipknot on May 1. We were all happy that they put a flier up for it (Note: Slipknot will be the next Review).

As we walked inside, we were each handed a free Psycopathic Sampler CD. We walked up to the stage and got a spot right in front. I went back and bought a Ringmaster Zippo. Then I returned to my spot. I had Mason hold my CD, Zippo, and wallet; so I wouldn't lose them. We sat down at a table until Twiztid came on.

The music on the P.A. stopped playing, and a sadistic laughed filled the speakers. It was Violent J welcoming us to the House Of Horrors. Before he would tell us more about the House Of Horrors, he ased us if we were there "To see the Fucking Goo Goo Dolls?", "No!!" we yelled. "Are you here to see Pussy Everclear?", "Fuck No!" we yelled. "Are you here to see the Insane Clown Posse?", the crowd erupted into "fuck yeah". "That's what I thought.", he said. He explained to us how the House Of Horrors had three exhibits. They were Twiztid, Myzery, and the I.C.P., all of which are part of the "Psychopathic Family." He then introduced Twiztid.

Out came two guys carrying axes and wearing Halloween masks. Then came two more guys wearing hoodies and cut-off camoflauge pants. They started rapping, and the mased men danced. They really got the crowd going, but only played for ten or fifteen minutes.
Now Violent J came on again to tell us about Myzery. "These guys like to smoke marijuana cigarettes.", he said. "do any of you like to smoke marijuana cigarettes?", he asked. Once again the crowd went nuts. "Well these guys smoked so many marijauna cigarettes, that it land them in the Lincoln City Jail. They can only perform tonight under the close watch of the Licoln Police." Everybody started yelling there disapprovemnet towards the police, and J let one loose with one of the best lines of the night; "Yeah, I now. I hate those fuckers too." Then Myzery too the stage.

These guys are good. The only problem I had with them was that they were slow and too much hardcore rap, for an I.C.P. show. They got the crowd going though. They had us yell "fuck the Police" at the two "Cops" on stage with them. They got done after about twenty to twenty-five minutes.

We went outside to cool off for a second, then people started running in. We went in and I reclaimed my spot. This time, the actually had a background on stage. It was like a room in a haunted house, it had an evil lookin organ with a fire place built into it, a coffin, three doors for there extras to come in through, and a refrigerator. Violent J came out of the coffin and Shaggy came out of one of the side doors. They were both wearing Halloween masks.
They opened with "Deadbody Man", then went into "Hocus Pocus". During "Hocus Pocus", J turned the fire place and Shaggy opened the fridge. We knew what was coming, Faygo, and lots of it. They played most of their good stuff, and showered us with Faygo the whole time. They were even hitting people up in the balcony. One of the highlights was the Faygo breaks. This is when they would stop a song, and some cheezy circus music would start playing. Then four of the stupidest looking clowns I've ever seen came out holding buckets of Faygo. They did a little dance and then showered the Wicked Clowns with Faygo, at least the first time. The second time, J and Shaggs stood there waiting for their dowsing. The clowns then dowsed us and J and Shaggs turned and laughed at us. Another highlight was when J left the stage and Shaggs went solo. Of the two, Shaggy is by far my favorite, so it was cool to see him do a solo. When he was done, Three cops came out with an electric chair. The cops clubbed him and threw him in the chair. They took him off stage and J came out to do "How Many Times".

Another highlight, at least to Redbone, was the way J and Shaggs would dump Faygo on themselves. The show was near a close, and they did "Down With The Clown", during which they brought out their goofy looking clowns to shoot us with Faygo Cannons. Then they did "Pass Me By". During this song, they brought out both Twiztid and Myzery and all their extra people. They dumped the rest of their Faygo on us. J then said that Lincoln was a "Clown Town" and that they'd be back in the summer on The Juggalo's fun House Tour.

The only real problems I had with the show were the moron jocks and twelve year olds that insisted on moshing. What the Fuck?!?!? How the Hell do you mosh to I.C.P.?? Also, they didn't play "What Is A Juggalo?" or my personal favorite "I Stuck Her With My Wang". That's okay, though. It was a fun show.
